Blog

Welcome to the ResponseAbility blog, where we pose questions and discuss the cutting edge issues facing Britain and the wider world from a distinctly Jewish perspective.

Rights and responsibilities

In 2009, ResponseAbility formed the Ministry of Justice’s Jewish consultation for the British Bill of Rights with RenéCassin, the Jewish human rights organisation. The idea of establishing a formal British Bill of Rights in writing has grown in popularity in recent years, with both major parties backing such proposals. The Ministry of Justice, who are exploring the idea of linking rights and responsibilities in this document, worked with ResponseAbility extensively last year as part of this process. The culmination of this was ResponseAbility’s event on November 23rd, 2009, which saw us launch our completed report – ‘Rights and Responsibilities: A Jewish Perspective.’  If you would like to receive a paper copy of this report, please write to us at the following address.
